We are organizing ROLF Cook-on-budget Contest in support of International Mother Earth Day 2021 and World Stop Food Waste Day 2021. This program will be held on Facebook via the ROLF Cook-on-budget Group from 20th April till 15th June, 2021.
People like to flaunt expensive food on social media nowadays. This trend instils the wrong values in our community. University/college students who are away from home and don’t have much pocket money to spend on food may feel depressed when they see the posts. Adults who lost their jobs during the COVID pandemic and could not provide good food to the family may be negatively affected.
Besides teaching the youths how to cook and eat healthily, we are also trying to promote the fact that one does not need to spend lavishly on food to eat a healthy and palatable meal.
We organize ROLF Cook-on-budget with 5 main objectives:
- Motivating young people to cook and adopt healthy diet.
- Training them to control food budget.
- Promoting zero food waste.
- Eating locally grown foods.
- Encouraging vegetable gardening at home or in small space.
Who can take part in this program?
- People who are passionate about cooking, sharing recipes and promoting healthy diet.
- Age 12 – 80. For participants under 16 years, parent or guardian must be present during the video presentation.
- This program is for all races and nationalities.
- Entries must be uploaded on Facebook – ROLF Cook-on-budget (Group) during the program period (April 20- June 15, 2021)
Terms and conditions
- Participants are requested to join ROLF Cook-on-budget Group on Facebook and post:
- the list of ingredients (in English only) that costs RM10/ USD2.50 or less per dish.
- a video showing how you prepare the dish (tutorial preferably in English, can be in other languages)
- include a caption “I am here to encourage youths to cook smart, adopt healthy diet, reduce food waste and locally grown foods. I am proud to be #ROLFLifeInfluencer, supporting the #ROLFCookonbudget”.
- Participants are requested to use their real account to upload the posts on ROLF Cook-on-budget Group and keep their Facebook account “public” so that organizer and judges can view their submissions. The Organizer may require proof of identity before releasing the awards.
- One participant one entry only.
- Winners will be selected & ranked based on the creativity of their cooking and the selection of ingredients.
- Pork free
- No promotion of products, services, blogs, spams and soliciting.
- Participants are strictly prohibited from making comments or criticizing on any political or religious parties and issues.
- By entering or participating in the Contest, participants agree to these Terms & Conditions. The Organizer may at any time extend, suspend or terminate the program at its sole discretion.
- The Organizer has the right to discontinue or dismiss any post which disrupts the normal operations of the program. Violating the code of ethics can result in termination and removal from the group.
Awards for ROLF Life Influencers for cooking the best dish within the budget given:
1st prize : USD100.00
2nd prize : USD70.00
3rd prize : USD50.00
The Most Nutritious Dish : USD50
The Best Video Presentation : USD50.00
The entry that receives most likes : USD30.00

Result: 70% by panel of judges. 30% by ROLF Life Influencers.
